DISCOVER KRAKOW

Only have one day in Krakow? We have prepared an itinerary that will take you to the city’s most important landmarks, let you experience the atmosphere of Kazimierz and end your day on the Main Market Square. All within walking distance of The Bonerowski Palace.

Route: Main Market Square → St. Florian’s Gate → Royal Route → Wawel → Kazimierz → Main Market Square Duration: approximately 8–10 hours including breaks.
Getting around: on foot.

9:00–10:30

Start your day in the very heart of Krakow. See the Cloth Hall, listen to the famous St. Mary’s Trumpet Call and step inside St. Mary’s Basilica, home to the magnificent altarpiece by Veit Stoss.

Practical information: The Main Market Square is right outside the hotel, and St. Mary’s Basilica is about a 2-minute walk away. Exploring the square is free. A ticket is required to visit the basilica – check the official website for current prices and opening hours.

10:30–12:00

Walk along Floriańska Street to St. Florian’s Gate, then return to the Main Market Square and follow Grodzka Street towards Wawel. Along the way, you will pass historic townhouses and some of Krakow’s most beautiful churches.

Practical information: The entire route can be explored on foot. The walk is free, and getting from the Main Market Square to Wawel takes approximately 15–20 minutes without stops.

12:00–14:30

Discover Krakow’s historic royal hill, explore the castle’s Renaissance courtyard and see Wawel Cathedral. If you would like to visit the interiors, choose one of the available exhibitions – with only one day in Krakow, there is no need to try to see everything.

Practical information: Access to the public areas of Wawel Hill is free, while the castle exhibitions require a ticket. Current prices, available routes and tickets can be found on the official website of Wawel Royal Castle. After your visit, take a break for lunch.

14:30–17:30

Discover Krakow’s historic Jewish quarter. Stroll along Szeroka Street, explore the atmospheric corners of Józefa and Miodowa Streets, and stop at Plac Nowy for a coffee or one of Krakow’s famous zapiekanki.

Practical information: Kazimierz is approximately a 15–20-minute walk from Wawel. Exploring the district is free, while admission to selected synagogues and museums requires
a ticket.

From 17:30

Return to the historic centre and experience the Main Market Square in the evening. It is the perfect time for a leisurely stroll and dinner. You can also end your day at Amalia Restaurant in The Bonerowski Palace.

Practical information: The walk from Kazimierz to the Main Market Square takes approximately 20–30 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a tram towards the Old Town.

Do you need to buy tickets? No. You can follow the main route free of charge. Tickets are only required if you choose to visit selected interiors, museums or castle exhibitions.

Do you need public transport? No. The entire itinerary is designed to be explored on foot. If you get tired, you can take a tram back from Kazimierz.

Do you need to book in advance? If you plan to visit the interiors of Wawel Castle, it is worth checking availability in advance and booking tickets for a specific time.

Tip: The suggested times are approximate. Choose no more than one or two ticketed attractions to leave enough time for walking, meals and spontaneously discovering the city.
